Youghal Vintage Club Road Run – Calling All Engines

From The East Cork Journal.

Youghal Vintage Club will be holding its Annual Road Run on Sunday, 19 May. The Committee is delighted this year to be donating proceeds from the event to the very worthy Youghal Lifeboat. Registration will begin at 10am with a view to revving up for the off at 11am sharp from Farrell’s Summerfield Bar. Registration fee for all participating vehicles in €20 and all registered members will receive a commemorative gift upon completion of the road run.  Speaking with The East Cork Journal, Phil Hogan, PRO of the Club, said, “We’re hoping for the usual great turn out which we get for our annual road run. In a seaside town like this, the local Lifeboat Station and crew are the backbone of the maritime community. The Committee are honoured to help, in any way, such a fantastic local voluntary organisation whose members put their lives on the line to save others.”

All vehicle types are welcome to participate, from tractors to cars and motorbikes and everything in between. The tractor route will take in Ballymacoda, Ladysbridge and the coast road to Garryvoe and back again. The route for the vintage cars will be decided closer to the date. Refreshments, tea and coffee will be served before and after the run at Farrell’s Summerfield Bar. The Club will also be holding a bucket collection in the town on Saturday, 18 May
