THOUSANDS of people were out pounding the pavements in Cork at the weekend for Operation Transformation (OT) walks in Youghal, Doneraile and Knocknaheeny.

With prams and pooches, people turned out in their droves to walk alongside this year’s Cork OT leader Pamela Swayne in Youghal and last year’s leader Wayne O’Donnell in Doneraile as well as in Knocknaheeny.

Pam, aged 36, mother to Ally, Leigh, Lilly, and Mikie, works part-time at the Amber petrol station in Youghal.

She was inspired to sign up for Operation Transformation by her daughter Lilly, aged seven, and her participation on the show is part of a four-year plan to be fit and healthy by the time she turns 40.

A sea of people took to the scenic routes arranged by OT and enjoyed a stroll in fresh calm conditions with a hint of sunshine.
