Local man Jim Horgan at Galway School of Boat Building is proud to announce the school’s nomination for the Classic Boat Awards 2015 in the Traditional New Boat (Under 40ft) section with their recently built cat-boat called the “Dorleen”.
This is a design which incorporates the features of a ubiquitous beach boat and the Connemara trawlers punt and was undertaken in Furbo by Jim and a team of willing helpers eager to learn boatbuilding skills. The team was delighted with the end product of their labours which is this exciting little boat. Ideal for sailing or rowing and can take up to 5 crew or can be manned singlehandedly. Its 6′ beam makes it a balanced and reliable family boat and it is light enough to be pulled on a trailer.
Jim would like to ask for your support for his new boat by voting online at https://www.classicboat.co.uk/awards2015/. Every vote counts and your support would be greatly appreciated.
