It was a pretty easy decision for me to make as I’m working at grassroots level day-in, day-out, and I’m seeing first-hand that the current Government has turned its back on the ordinary people of our country. The people of my constituency are suffering.
I was first elected as a public representative since 1999 and during my 21 years; I believe that I’ve gained valuable experience that is going to stand to me when representing you, the people of Cork East in The Dáil.
Everyday I’m working on a wide range of issues on behalf of my constituents and it seems to me that the people of this country are being neglected by this current Fine Gael government, while Fianna Fáil sit on their hands in support.
We’ve seen record tax revenues of €59.3bn in 2019 but the records of children sleeping in emergency accommodation and Emergency Department overcrowding, has left me wondering if our elected representatives in the Dáil have forgotten about the people who keep them in their jobs? Enough is enough.
In the weeks to come, I will be out on the canvas trail with my team and while I don’t have a big party machine behind me, I will be doing my level best to cover every corner of the constituency to meet you all. If any of you would like to help out on the campaign, and support a strong INDEPENDENT voice in Cork East, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
I will be sharing, in more details, my election manifesto. My record as a county councillor is one that fights on behalf of the ordinary people of Cork East and now, I want to this on the national stage. I hope you will support me in this.
Thank You and I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail.
