YOUGHAL looks set to establish a parkrun in spring 2020.
The five-kilometre proposed route will begin at Claycastle car park and then up past the lighthouse, around Green Park and back.
At the helm of the new parkrun is David Kilgannon who is currently working hard to get the project off the ground.

“I’ve done parkruns in the past in Bere Island and it’s something I feel could benefit Youghal greatly if we were to have one here,” he told.
David is currently working on securing permission from the County Council as well as funding before the run gets the green light.
The route must also be approved by parkrun Ireland for insurance purposes.
David, who has lived in the East Cork town for the past fifteen years set up a Youghal parkrun Facebook Page three days ago which has had engagement from 8,500 people thus far.
Parkrun began in November 2012 and organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world.
They are open to all fitness levels to partake in.
The current proposed start date for the Youghal run is April 2020.
