From The East Cork Journal.

An Irish charity is urging businesses and public buildings to Light Up Purple to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Running from October 9 – 15 Baby Loss Awareness week is an international event which seeks to raise awareness of the issues affecting families who have experienced a loss of a pregnancy or baby.

To mark the close of the week on 15 October, buildings across the globe will turn purple to remind these families that they are not alone.

Purple is the Charity’s colour of choice, being a mix of blue and pink.

Féileachain say they would like to see iconic buildings across the region light up.

Baby Loss Awareness week calls for improvements in research, care and policy around bereavement support.

The organisation also highlight the supports that are available for parents who lose a child at birth or during infancy.
