CRY’s 5th annual Radiothon and inaugural Team of Steel Event raises €1000 for St Vincent de Paul

The CRY104fm Radiothon and first ever Team of Steel event raised a total of €1845,  €1000 of which went towards the Youghal Branch of St Vincent de Paul while the remaining €845 will go towards the upkeep and development of CRY104fm.

Speaking at a special cheque presentation at Nagle House in Youghal ,CRY104fm Station Manager  Darragh Parker thanked all those who supported the two events, from the volunteer presenters in Community Radio Youghal who raised a huge amount of Sponsorship and  broadcast for 50 consecutive hours from the 13th to the 15th of November to those teams who braved the unfavourable weather conditions to take part in the first ever Team of Steel Event at Youghal Rugby Club. He added that it was a privilege for the station to be able to make a contribution to the great work that St Vincent de Paul do week in week out in the Community especially as we approach the festive season when their resources are stretched to breaking point.

He also thanked the CRY Fundraising Committee, Youghal Rugby Club , Youghal Vintage Club, the businesses who very generously donated prizes to the event and all those who sponsored a presenter during the 50 hour Radiothon.
