RTE’s Nationwide to focus on Youghal

Youghal and its unique heritage will feature on a dedicated feature-length episode of RTE’s Nationwide on Friday, 27th February 2015, at 7.00pm.

A film crew, fronted by Anne Cassin was in the town recently to showcase all the positive developments emanating from Youghal in recent years.

It will show the progress of the renovation of the Clockgate Tower, the magnificent Medieval Town Walls, and incorporate a visit to St Mary’s Collegiate Church, along with details of the reinstatement of Youghal’s Eco-Boardwalk.

The programme will include an interview with local man John McGrath and his memories of life in the Clockgate Tower, together with many local contributors such as Town Crier, Cliff Winser, Mark Golden President of Youghal Chamber of Tourism & Development among others.

The show is a timely boost to the tourism and hospitality signaling the quality and range of the offering. Nationwide regularly boasts viewership figures of over 400,000 people with Friday broadcasts being the most watched.
