The International Irish Language Festival, Seachtain na Gaeilge, runs from 1 – 17th March. To celebrate the Irish Language and Culture, there is a big week-end of Irish and Bilingual events promised.
“Rith” is a Community Festival and one of the main events of Seactain na Gaeilge 2014. It will run over nine days and individuals from Schools, Community Groups, Sports Clubs and Youth Groups etc. will take part in the run and pass on the relay baton from kilometre to kilometre over the 9 days of its duration.
Rith 2014 is a physical demonstration of public support for the Irish language and people can take part by sponsoring a kilometre, by coming out to run some of the course or by just coming out to cheer on the runners.
