Orla’s Christmas Challenge

My first day at school cake...how cute is that??
My first day at school cake…how cute is that??

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASo slight disaster this week, at the weigh in on Tuesday I was up a pound…I was a bit devestated to be honest and didn’t think I would be. I was very good all week, no rubbish, no alcohol and I was in the gym when I was supposed to be…so what happened?

My instructor at the gym assures me there is nothing to worry about…”Your just gaining muscle”…”muscle weighs more than fat”….I’m not buying it…if that was the case, surely I would be 9 stone as my body has a lot more fat than muscle??????

Anyway, after a bit of a rant, I just got on with it and carried on as normal. I got the lovely Kevin to take a photo of me on the cross trainer, and was horrified at what I saw…not a very flattering angle…that is to say it was my whole body, not just from the neck up…but it has spurred me on even more.

I was at UCC this week for my conferring in the Diploma in Rural Development, and I was very proud to be there…the dress was still a little bit too snug from my liking, but that didn’t stop me enjoying the day with family and friends, and my mother cooked a wonderful dinner for us all.

She also got me the most beautiful chocolate cake…with a picture of me on my first day at school…how thoughtful! Had to have a slice though…it would be rude not to!

I will leave you with this, at the conferring Eamonn Ryan (the Cork Ladies Football Manager) gave an address and in it he said something that really hit home with me. I am going to steal it from him and hope it inspires you aswell….he said “Don’t wait for the light at the end of the tunnel…stride down that tunnel and light the bloody thing yourself”…..wise words.

Next weigh in is on Thursday and my first month appraisal so we will see how the BMI is going.
Cheers,
Orla
