It’s the end of week three and I am suffering slightly from “gym fatigue”. It’s not a physical thing, more of a mental attitude which surfaces when I wake and am thinking about snuggling back under the duvet! I have managed to bypass this and did go in all this week, as well as this morning at 7am. It’s not getting any easier though!
I met my new personal trainer this morning, Kevin from Killeagh. It wasn’t the most glam introduction, I was at the end of my hour and a half workout and was lying facedown on the floor lamenting the fact that I still had 2 more plank exercises to do. Bless him, I think he thought I was dead! I assured him I was very much alive, even if I was beetroot read, sweating profusely and probably swearing internally aswell.
So my 1st month is up next week and Kevin will be tweaking my exercise regime…not sure I want it tweaked if I tell the truth…it suits me and it seems to be working, but Kevin assured me that I must stay one step ahead of my body so that it does not become complacent….story of my life!
I still have not managed to get to a Bokwa class, as I was the only one who showed up last Thursday…come on ladies come down on a Thursday night at 7pm and lets get this class running. It’s supposed to be great fun as well as a fab workout. I am hoping that the closer it gets to Christmas, the more people will decide to get fit.
I have a question about gym dressing rooms though, why is it so hard to get dressed in them. I have no problem with it being communal, I am not one of those women who strip off and strutt to the shower, but I have my own little area where I get dressed in relative privacy. That’s not the problem, its the fact that I am still soaking wet after drying off, and it is really hard to get dressed. Is this because I am still sweating or that the temperature is set to tropical? Tights are a big no no and I have learned by experience that it can reduce me to tears trying to get them on…I have since discovered leggings!
The weigh in is tomorrow and you can tune into the “Yawl Ready for this” show on Thursday with Eugene and Eric to see how things went. I am away conferring at UCC (how posh am I) and hopefully my frock will be a little bit more roomy!
Remember – Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip, Toe if you must, but take that step.
Cheers,
Orla x
