Just back from meeting with HIQA, it went very welll. They are aware that there are serious problems within the Ambulance service, not just on a local level but on a national level. They are hoping to start some form of review before the end of the year. They have also agreed to write to the HSE outlining our concerns, and as they said themselves, no one likes to get a letter from HIQA in the door. Lets hope it just adds to the mounting pressure the HSE are under from Save Youghal Ambulance , East Cork needs an Ambulance and memberws of the public are putting them under for a better service in East Cork. I will continue to keep you updated on any news we receive.
